FASTENING 1" ABOVE THE BUTT LINE OF THE SUCCEEDING COURSE

For a 7" exposure, fasten the shingle 1" above the butt line of the succeeding course, resulting in a distance of 8" from the base of the shingle. This ensures compliance with the installation requirement.
