Maibec Stained Nails

Maibec Stained Nails are hot-dipped zinc galvanized ring-shank nails with a textured head specifically designed to match the colour of your Maibec siding. These nails are factory-stained and must be ordered at the same time as your siding to ensure a seamless, colour-matched installation. Each nail is coated to resist corrosion, providing long-lasting durability for exterior applications.

To protect the stain on the nail heads during installation, use the provided plastic hammer cap, ensuring your project maintains its clean, polished look. Maibec Stained Nails are available in two sizes to accommodate different siding and trim requirements:

2" Hand Nails

Ideal for siding installation and 1" mouldings; used for siding and fascia

• 1 lb Box contains approximately 194 nails (17/64" textured head)
• 5 lb Box contains approximately 970 nails (17/64" textured head)

  • 1x4 Siding – 5 lbs = 1,450 linear feet

3" Hand Nails

Recommended for batten and other trim applications (5/4" trims.)

  • 2x8 & 2x10 Trim – 1 lb = 80 linear feet

Nail Installation Guidelines for Maibec Siding:

To ensure a secure and long-lasting Maibec siding installation, stained Maibec nails must be used when any tongue and groove system has been removed from the boards. Sealants are not a substitute for nails and must not be used to hold boards in place. If a board requires adjustment by more than 1/16", secure it by nailing the bottom edge.

• Ensure the nails achieve a minimum penetration of 1" into a solid substrate for maximum holding power.
• Drive the nails flush with the wood surface without overdriving, ensuring the nail heads sit level for a smooth, seamless look.

Installation System

Maibec regular siding is installed using Maibec’s hot-dipped zinc galvanized ring shank nails with textured heads, pre-stained at the factory to seamlessly match the siding color. To maintain a flawless finish, it’s essential to order these nails along with your siding. For best results, use a hammer cap during installation to protect the stain on the nail heads from damage.

When installing Maibec siding and mouldings in coastal areas*, using unstained stainless steel grade 316 ring shank nails is mandatory. Failure to follow this guideline will result in the warranty being voided.

Coastal areas are defined as locations within 600 meters (2,000 feet) of the coastline in the following regions: Atlantic Canada (New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador), Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, and the U.S. East Coast states.
