The Simpson Strong-Tie BCS Post Cap is engineered to connect multi-ply beams to posts, providing both lateral and uplift support in wood construction projects.
Featuring double-shear nailing, it distributes loads through two points, enhancing structural integrity. Constructed from 18-gauge galvanized steel, the BCS Post Cap is available with a ZMAX® coating or in stainless steel for increased corrosion resistance, making it suitable for various environmental conditions.
This connector is ideal for applications such as decks and patio covers, ensuring strong and reliable beam-to-post connections.

Installation
- Use all specified fasteners; see General Notes
- Do not install bolts into pilot holes
- Install dome nails on the beam; drive nails at an angle through the beam into the post below to achieve the table loads
